5 Key Differences Between a Taser & a Stun Gun

A taser gun and a stun gun are two electroshock weapons. However, they are pretty different from each other. There are a few key differences between the two weapons.

Both these weapons are able to deliver a strong electrical shock and they can cause an immobilization.

In other words, they can cause that stun effect to leave the attacker immobilized for quite some time. Here are some key differences between a taser and a stun gun:

1. A Stun Gun Operates Unlike a Gun

A stun gun usually does not operate like a gun even though it is named as a gun. It features two prongs that can be touched with the body of the attacker to deliver a strong electrical shock. Yes, it is that easy to use.

2. A Taser Works Like a Pistol

A taser gun on the other hand works like a gun. It is shaped like a real pistol and has a trigger mechanism.

You can pull that trigger to shoot electrodes and those two electrodes touch the body of the attacker and connect to form a circuit and deliver a shock.

3. A Stun Gun Needs to Be Touched

Using a stun gun is a very unique experience. You need to touch the prongs on the device to the body of the attacker.

As these prongs come in contact with his body, it gives a very powerful electrical shock to leave the attacker stunned or immobilized for some time.

4. A Taser Can Be Used from a Distance

A taser allows you to use it from some distance. You can stay at a safe distance from the attacker and pull the trigger to shoot electrodes.

These electrodes go and touch the body of the attacker and connect to form a circuit. As a result, an electrical shock is given to the attacker.

5. A Stun Gun Comes in Many Designs

A stun gun comes in many designs while a taser has just one design, You can only find a taser designed as a pistol. On the other hand, a stun gun is designed as a lipstick, as a cell phone, as a USB and many more.
